Mauritius is located in the South Western part of the Indian Ocean. The island can be found below the equator, just North of the tropic of Capricorn in the Southern hemisphere.

Mauritius enjoys a mild tropical maritime climate throughout the year. The country has two seasons: a warm humid summer extending from November to April and a relatively cool dry winter from June to September. The month of October and May are commonly known as the transition months. The very best time to visit is between October and December when its usually quite hot with low rainfall.
A passport that must be valid for least six months from the date of departure. The Visa will be valid for sixty days from the date of issue. Proof of sufficient funds.

Mauritius is an island nation with plenty of ATMs, and major credit cards are widely accepted, but you’ll probably need cash for the small islands
Foreigners with a driving license issued by a competent authority in their respective countries are allowed to drive during their stay in Mauritius. However, if you intend to stay for a period longer than four weeks, you need to have either an International Driving Permit (issued in your home country) or apply for an extension with the Mauritian authorities (Mauritius Police Force, Traffic Branch Department in Port Louis)
No, unfortunately, they will not give you more than 90 days upon arrival. One way or another, you must visit the Passport and Immigration Office in Port Louis to jump through some hoops. If you want to immediately stay 180 days or longer, you can apply for the Mauritius Premium Visa. This one is valid for 365 days
